Every year International women’s day is celebrated on 8th March to highlight the significance of women in society, to celebrate their achievements, and to show the importance of gender equality. So, women can display their abilities in a better way and make a difference in this society.

Women have played great roles in society, economics, and politics but even then they don’t get as much recognition as they deserve. Their achievements and talents are usually masked by social norms and systematic barriers.

This year the theme for women’s day is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow” with the main goal of providing women and girls all around the globe with equal opportunities. As it is believed, that women can play a great role in climate change adaptation and mitigation to improve our future. 

The main reason for the greater effect of climate on women is that they are given fewer human rights as compared to men. As the climate is being impacted day by day, the workload on women is increasing. They are facing more violence, physiological and emotional stress. In some parts of the world, women and girls are being deprived of their basic needs and respect. Women are not given equal access to control of resources, education, and decision-making power, which makes it difficult for them to play their part towards the society and sustainable tomorrow.

It is crucial to spread awareness of gender equality so, that women can perform with their full potential. With so much potential, women when given equal chances to men can bring astonishing change that can make this world an exemplary place to live.

If gender equality is ignored now, then it may have dramatic effects on our lives because climate change has become a major issue these days that need to be resolved most efficiently and quickly. When both men and women work equally to resolve this problem, then amazing outcomes are expected. Women have incredible knowledge on how to adapt to the changes in the environment in a better way. When both men and women are working side by side with both giving their best to this world it can become an amazing place to live. As it is said, “when everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”
